With the Indie Beauty Expo just around the corner, we thought we would take a quick moment to introduce you to the team that will be at IBE this week.
Heather Lux, Founder and CEO:
Heather has spent much of the past 20 years working for progressive Fortune 100 Consumer Good Manufacturing and Sales companies in the area of Human Resource, Organizational Development, and Innovation. During her career, she has successfully implementing Human Resource strategies on a national scale, been responsible for starting up highly successful high-speed manufacturing facilities, turning around underperforming business units, hiring top talent, and building sustainable organizational cultures. She started TNB as a passion project and in November 2017, decided to go all in and run TNB full time. Her rich and diverse work history and love of beauty has allowed her to transform TNB from a fun side gig to a full-fledged startup company.
In her free time Heather enjoys experiencing new places, being around friends, and hanging out with her husband and two dogs. To Heather, confidence means not needing to have everything in life figured out because when the time comes to make important decision you will know what to do. It’s hard for her to pick her favorite product (they are all her babies!) but she would have to say it was the first product she ever created, the Hydration Cream because it provides enough hydration for morning and night… Or the Eye Cream because it addresses fine lines, dark circles and puffiness - it’s trifecta in eye treatments!
Michael McGary, Co-Founder and COO:
Michael, a retired Mater Chief, served in the US Navy for over 30 years and had teams of personnel totaling over 1,700 reporting to him. Michael gained significant experience in Lean Manufacturing, regulatory compliance and supply chain management while serving throughout his military career. After the military he worked as a forest ranger in northern Maine until he retired. He was pulled out of retirement to work on True North Beauty where he oversees all of the manufacturing and Chaga harvesting. As a soap and water kind of guy, his favorite product is the UnScented Solid Cleanser because it is easy to use and great for shaving. Michael has two sons and in his spare time he enjoys being in the outdoors, hiking, traveling, and being with family. He says if he were not working for TNB, he would have stayed retired. ;)
Sarah Eremita, Marketing and Creative:
Sarah has a degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in English and minor in ELS as well a degree in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing. After teaching in Manhattan, she moved back home to Maine to obtain her marketing degree and worked on the KAHBANG Festival and managed at a hotel. Currently, she assists the TNB team by helping out with marketing campaigns, social media content, copywriting, and editing. In her free time she loves to travel, try new restaurants, and be the best dog-aunt to Rhody and Rookie. Sarah is also a member of Chi Omega and is a volunteer on the Xi Beta Chapters House Board. Her favorite product is the Facial Serum and says it is a “magical” product that addresses all of her skincare concerns including adult acne, fine lines, and hydration. She started off as a long-time customer before working for TNB and really believes in the products and loves what the mission stands for.
Brittney Scigliano, New Business Development:
Brittney is a licensed esthetician that has experience selling for skincare and makeup lines. She also earned her bachelor’s degree in Health Science with a minor in Business. She has ran a successful esthetics practice from the ground up and stays up to date on trends, proved products, and treatments in the skincare industry. She lives in Idaho with her husband of 12 years, Brian and has a vivacious almost-nine-year-old daughter, Clara. As a family they love to ski together in the winter an camp in the summer. Brittney has family ties to Maine and was referred to TNB by a mutual friend. Her extensive background in the skincare industry made her a great fit for the team and Brittney works on bringing in new wholesale accounts and overseeing existing ones. Her favorite product I the Beauty Box because she loves how all of the products in it work together and how simple and effective the ritual is. In her free time she loves all things garden related (walking in gardens and even dream about greenhouses while scrolling Pinterest for her perfect garden!), and loves to travel and enjoy the culture, architecture, and history of different countries. To Brittney, confidence means that no matter how scary something might be, heart racing and voice shaking, that you can do what you set your mind to. Brittney is channeling her confidence and is running for Boise City Council this November! Go Brittney!
There you have it! The TNB Team that will be at IBE this week! If you are going, stop by, say Hi, and introduce yourself! We’d love to meet you!
