When I started True North Beauty, I started it with the idea that I wanted to help people to feel good about themselves, inside and out. And since today is National Inner Beauty Day, I thought it would make a great blog topic!
According to the National Inner Beauty Day website, it is a day dedicated to introducing “beauty and wholeness to a world that may not yet understand its own self-worth.” We love the intention behind National Inner Beauty Day and we really believe in helping people find their confident, natural, beauty within themselves!
Go ahead, take a minute and really think about your answer.
There is no wrong answer to this question. Maybe what inner beauty means to you is how you think about and treat others, maybe it means having an open and giving heart, or maybe inner beauty to you is pushing past your inner struggles and choosing to not let life get you down. Whatever your answer was, it’s right. There is no wrong answer to that question because inner beauty can mean something different to everyone.
They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so maybe inner beauty has something to do with the way we treat and feel about ourselves?
We are always our toughest critic and sometimes it can be hard to see ourselves in a positive light because of all the negative self-talk, doubt, and second guessing we put ourselves through. Our confidence takes a blow each time we participate in this kind of behavior and over time, blow after blow, it can be harder to get back up. That is why self-love and positive mantras are key in maintaining our confidence and building our self-esteem up so we can see and recognize our own self-worth (check out last week’s blog post about Confidence Building).
Once we build up a great foundation of confidence, we can then start to feel differently about ourselves and start treating ourselves a bit nicer and really let our inner beauty shine through!
