So many times we rush through life and forget to take the time to reflect on all of the things we have experienced, learned, and accomplished. We can get caught up in ‘what comes next’ I think that birthdays are the perfect time to reflect back and celebrate all of our accomplishments from the past year, both personally and professionally.
Many of you do not know this, but my birthday is one day after True North Beauty’s birthday! … and even less of you know that this year I turn 47!
I believe that with age comes experience and wisdom. Most people dread the big 4-0 but looking back, I have actually loved my 40's. It has been during this period of my life that I have learned to feel comfortable in my own skin. I learned to embrace that being imperfect is perfect and realized that confidence is the new pretty! I finally discovered my true self and love getting to spend every day with her.
As I reflect on my personal growth this past year, I also need to acknowledge my professional growth. Since 2018 we have added 2 new team members, attended IBE, launched 2 new collections (doubling our product offering), received 2 Maine Technology Institute Grants, participated in GreenLight Maine, launched our 1st Customer Discovery Survey, and now have product sold in NYC! We have come so far since last October and I am thankful that I have the opportunity to be on this journey!
While I honestly sometimes need to remind myself to reflect on the good of my journey, I have no problem dreaming about the future! I think about the coming years for TNB and can’t wait to see it grow and evolve. It’s exciting for me to be able to reach more people and spread the message of Confident, Natural Beauty!
So Happy 4th Birthday, True North Beauty and Happy Birthday, to me! We both have come a long way and this year has been a huge growth year both for the business and myself. I can't wait to see where this journey takes me, but I sure am excited for it!
