Like any other year, with the flip of the calendar we see new trends, fashion, buzzwords, and all the other pop-culture icons that unveil at the stroke of midnight on every January 1st. So far, I'm loving what I'm seeing from 2022.
Here at True North, we are really leaning into our favorite buzzword of 2022: Eco-Luxe. You won't find it any dictionaries (yet!), but check any environmentally friendly, high-end design site, and you're bound to see it.
For us, we love that this buzzword is finally getting the attention it deserves. Eco-Luxe is how we've been operating as a brand for nearly a decade. It's our end goal, not a short-lived trend that comes with all the other health-conscious choices we make in the new year.
What's Eco-Luxe? Besides being a wonderfully fun word to say, it's the sensibility of environmentalism combined with the splendor and extravagance of luxury. You see, these aren't mutually exclusive. In 2022, it's more important than ever to be thoughtful about your consumer habits; but this doesn't mean you should have to sacrifice comfort and quality.
Beautiful, luxurious skincare with minimal impact on the environment and maximum impact on your skin has always been on our end goal and we love talking about Eco-Luxe as a lifestyle choice.
Here's why you should love it, too:
1. It's better for you. Using ingredients that were harvested using eco-responsible and natural methods means your True North skincare is free from harmful chemicals, is cruelty-free, and promotes a healthy lifecycle for our forests and healthy, clean skin for you.
2. It's better for the earth. According to the EPA, a third of landfills is made up of waste from the beauty industry.
True North has always put eco above ego.
We want you to feel confident in your skincare; not only in the way it makes you feel and look, but in the way it impacts your environment. This is why we develop all of our products by hand, in small batches from our 100% solar-powered micro-facility in northern Maine. This is also where we do most of our harvesting for our ingredients. We do not outsource the formulation or buy ingredients from global traders. Maybe we can get 'Forest-to-Face' skincare trending by 2023?
3. Who doesn't want luxury? You may have always thought that using an 'all-natural' brand means weird smells and semi-effective outcomes. But, come on. You know how much we love luxury. We wouldn't do that to you. We can do both. True North gives you beautifully rich, creamy moisturizers, and lightly fragranced, glow-inducing serums, all made with sustainably sourced, natural ingredients that are eco-consciously packaged - and still so pretty.
